Using Zoom
Before you can be invited to a virtual health visit, your healthcare team will ask you some questions to see if this option is right for you. They will consider the following:
- Do you have a reliable internet connection and a smartphone, tablet, or computer?
- Are you comfortable with technology in general? (i.e. using email, or video conferencing)
- Do you understand the possible risks of using digital communications?
After you let us know that you will be using Zoom, the healthcare team will email you an invitation to the appointment.
Like an in-person visit, there are some things you can do before the virtual visit to make sure that your Zoom appointment runs smoothly. Please take a look at this checklist (PDF) for more information.
You can also invite a family member or friend to join you when appropriate.
