The PHSA Data Access and Use Terms were created by PHSA Legal Services to streamline privacy and legal requirements, replace the need for agreements and confidentiality undertakings, and clarify the responsibilities of data users.
The Terms set out the responsibilities that apply to a recipient who wishes to access and use data for the purposes of conducting research or statistical activities, whether such activities are approved by a Research Ethics Board (REB), or exempted from REB approval due to the activity being a Project.
These Terms can be used in conjunction with the PHSA Online Data Access Request (DAR) Form or, with permission from the relevant PHSA data stewards, other DAR forms currently in use.
Important: These Terms will be rolled out across the PHSA in the near future but may not apply to you at this time. Please check with
Holly Longstaff, Director, Privacy and Access, PHSA Research and New Initiatives to confirm their applicability or to ask questions about their deployment.
