Offered through PHSA’s research institutes, these research project supports are available to all PHSA researchers on a cost-recovery basis.

Project Management

BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute offers research project management services to support the planning and delivery of research projects. Services can include:

Developing project plans including: scope, schedule, cost, communication, and risk management plans; and other tools and processes to facilitate project goals and needs.
Coordinating the overall administration of the project; ensuring the project stays in scope, on schedule, and on budget.
Monitoring performance measurement indicators and identifying risks and issues, and recommending solutions for successful project completion.
Coordinating reporting.

BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute offers statisticians who can assist with research grant and protocol development, study design and methodology, statistical analysis, and dissemination of results (e.g., manuscript preparation). Consultation encompasses study design and statistical analysis, ensuring that during the planning stages of a study, the research question can be answered using the collected data.

Biobanking

BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) BioBank

The BCCH BioBank allows researchers to access a collection of samples and data that have already been sourced, without needing to recruit participants prospectively or collect or process samples themselves.

With experience supporting PI-initiated studies as well as industry-sponsored clinical trials, services offered include sample processing, sample storage, patient recruitment, data collection, and data retrieval.
