The Laboratory Services Act requires laboratories to meet certain requirements when providing insured laboratory services in B.C.
Under the authority of the Laboratory Services Act and the Laboratory Services Regulation, the Minister of Health is responsible for the administration and provision of insured laboratory benefits to British Columbians.
PLMS is responsible for processing many of the administrative aspects of the Act and regulations on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
