The Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research Working Group provides thought leadership and guidance on new developments, opportunities and risks related to AI use by the PHSA research community. The AI in Research Working Group serves as a forum for diverse parties involved and interested in developing or using AI in a healthcare research setting to come together in the spirit of learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.

The AI in Research Working Group provides support to PHSA's Research Ethics Boards to assess studies that incorporate the use of AI. For more information related to AI-related research project submissions, please refer to the AI Research Submission Checklist and Guidance. This checklist is being piloted by the PHSA and UBC REBs. Feedback from reserchers is welcome.
The AI in Research Working Group includes membership from all PHSA Research Programs and partners in other Health Authorities to support provincial knowledge sharing.
