CareConnect is British Columbia’s secure, view-only Electronic Health Record (EHR) that offers authorized care providers access to an integrated, provincial view of patient-centric information available 24/7 to support the delivery of patient care.

Gain access to encounters, provincial and community lab results, diagnostic imaging, clinical documents from both non health authority and health authority sources, and provincial immunization records for patients within B.C.

What are the clinical benefits of CareConnect access?

Quicker access to your patient's health history; Less time spent on the phone tracking down reports and results; Avoid ordering unnecessary or duplicate lab tests and imaging; Identify other clinicians involved in your patient's care; Information to facilitate referrals, triage and transfers of care; Access to shared clinical informaiton across care providers, programs and services to enhance continuity of care.

Who's using CareConnect?

CareConnect is available to healthcare professionals within six health authorities and select community groups within British Columbia.

  • Fraser Health
  • Interior Health
  • Island Health 
  • Northern Health 
  • Provincial Health Services Authority
  • Vancouver Coastal Health and Providence Health Care
  • CareConnect is currently available to the following community-based end users: 
    • Community-based Physicians
    • Community-based Physician Residents
    • Licensed Community Pharmacists
    • Nurse Practitioners 
    • Registered Nurses 
    • Medical Office Assistants 
    • Licensed Practical Nurses 
    • Registered Psychiatric Nurses
    • Social Workers
How to request access to CareConnect? Please select your work setting below: 
Non Health Authority Setting

For example:

  • Community-based Physicians
  • Community-based Resident Physicians
  • Licensed Community Pharmacists
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Registered Nurses 
  • Medical Office Assistants 
  • Licensed Practical Nurses 
  • Registered Psychiatric Nurses
  • Social Workers

Community-Based Access 

Please note that if you have access to CareConnect in one setting, you still need to request access for the other setting. 

For example: If you have access through a Health Authority role, you will not automatically have access in a community clinic (and vice versa), and will have to apply again through the “Community Based Health Provider” pathway.
