Information Management/Information Technology Services (IMITS) plans, manages, and evaluates specialty and province-wide health care services across B.C.
IMITS supports PHSA, Vancouver Coastal Health, and Providence Health Care across business, clinical and research environments within the province. The numbers share a small glimpse into the depth of services offered by IMITS team members: over 300 applications, used by more than 50,000 staff, and supporting 4.8+ million patient encounters a year. Health care services are delivered by these three organizations in large urban care and research environments; remote, mobile services; rural and isolated communities – literally all over B.C.
The work of IMITS serves 15 hospital campuses, 10 emergency departments, six regional cancer care centres, three urgent care centres, three trauma centres, six regional Forensic Psychiatric centres, 29 provincial programs and services, six research facilities, 29 residential care centres, 299 community locations, 32 regional laboratories, 400 ambulances, 3-911 dispatch centres, 270 Telehealth sites, and 150 academic partners. From service desk support to training tools to electronic charting and beyond, health care employees rely on electronic connection for daily tasks, big and small.
With more than 2000 team members, jobs in IMITS are diverse and include opportunities from entry level to senior leadership, along with project support and clinical technology teams. Team members typically have education in computer science, health informatics, statistics, research, etc. along with the required software/programs/equipment used by their specific roles.

IMITS team members are employed primarily in Burnaby and Vancouver, and can also be located with a specific PHSA program such as BC Renal/BC Transplant, BC Centre for Disease Control, etc.
